Darroch Ball is the New Zealand First MP based in Palmerston North.
Before entering Parliament in 2014, he spent 7 years in the New Zealand Army where he was an officer in the LSV (Limited Service Volunteer) programme working with youth to help them make a positive change in their lives.
He became a qualified teacher in 2013, teaching Science at Waiopehu College in Levin. Darroch’s focus while in Parliament, is to ensure our young people are looked after and their futures are positive and progressive.
Darroch has been involved with New Zealand First for the past ten years and prior to entering Parliament he was the party’s North Island Vice President.
As the Party's Law and Order spokesperson, Darroch has pushed for laws introducing minimum prison sentences for assault on first responders and imposing harsher penalties on drivers who flee police pursuits.
