New Zealand First List MP based in Rodney, Spokesperson for Health, Broadcasting, Human Rights, ACC, Conservation and Environment
Jenny Marcroft first entered Parliament after the 2017 general elections. She is an award-winning broadcaster and former teacher with over 30 years of experience as a broadcaster and communicator prior to entering politics.
Ms Marcroft spent an extensive part of her career in radio, television and other media. Prior to taking up her career in broadcasting she trained as and worked as a teacher in New Zealand and the UK.
She is a graduate of the University of Waikato and Hamilton Teachers College with degrees and diplomas in education and teaching.
Jenny Marcroft has provided her expertise voluntarily to her Nga Puhi iwi and has made a significant contribution in that regard.
Having spent the last three years as Health spokesperson for New Zealand First, Ms Marcroft is determined to address urgent health equity issues.
In government, New Zealand First has been focused on improving health outcomes for all including by making doctor’s visits free for under 14 year olds, for example.
Her centrist political position aligns with that of New Zealand First with a pragmatic approach to solving problems and formulating solutions.
