The New Zealand First Team
Robert Gore, Candidate for New Lynn
Robert Gore is standing for New Zealand First because he belies our country and our community need smarter and more sustainable levels of immigration, protection of vital industries and strategic assets from foreign ownership and a Government that keeps it Kiwi when deciding the future direction of this country.
Growing up in Titirangi, West Auckland remains his stomping ground to this day. After graduating from the University of Auckland with a degree in Political Science and History, he worked in construction, specifically roofing for the next three years. During that time he attended night classes in Te Reo Maori at Hoani Waititi Marae.
Robert's political foray with New Zealand First was being the lead youth organiser for Young New Zealand First. His priority was to give younger members a voice and a place of belonging within the organisation. Since then he's been elected onto the Board of Directors and worked in various ways for the New Zealand First party.
Two years ago he stood in a council by-election in West Auckland. As a community, West Auckland faced unaccountable CCO’s selling off public assets, and serious ecological and infrastructure concerns ignored by a failing Super-City bureaucracy. On the campaign trail, he championed solutions that had come from the grassroots of the community, including Trains to Huapai and restoring the Waitakere Tramlines.
Two years on the challenges remain, but Robert is determined to find the solutions to fix them. Balance, Experience and an Effective team that delivers on common-sense ideas are what West Auckland needs.
