Associate Minister Police

Former Detective Sergeant and Vice-President of the Police Association Casey Costello is a New Zealand First List MP based in the Port Waikato Electorate, and became a Cabinet Minister in the 54th New Zealand Parliament following the 2023 election. She is the Minister for Customs, and Seniors, and an Associate Minister of Health, Police, and Immigration.

Prior to becoming an MP, Casey was a spokesperson for Hobson’s Pledge for seven years and had been instrumental in pushing back against an agenda of race-based division being used to distract New Zealanders from the real issues.

Living and working most of her life in South Auckland, Casey has held a range of successful managerial roles in the security and construction industries, including being responsible for security at Parliament a number of years ago. Most recently before entering politics, Casey ran her own business advocating for victims of migrant exploitation in New Zealand.

Proudly acknowledging both her Ngāti Wai/Ngapuhi and Anglo-Irish ancestry, Casey brings an outstanding knowledge of the important issues facing New Zealand along with the dedication, courage and commitment to stand against formidable forces that seek to silence critics.
