David is a New Zealand First List MP based in Auckland. He is currently a member of the Finance and Expenditure Select Committee and the Economic Development, Science and Innovation Select Committee.
David has extensive public policy and economic development experience that are a valuable asset to the New Zealand First team. He was an integral part of the Independent Advisory Panel for the Provincial Growth Fund, brought in by New Zealand First in 2017, and is a former Chair of Economic Development New Zealand. He is also a fellow of EDNZ and received their Distinguished Service Award in 2018.
Passionate about his local region, David has utilised his skills through CEO, governance and directorship roles, as well as academic and consultancy roles. He has an extensive blend of business and public sector experience, along with an array of qualifications, including a Masters in Public Policy with first class honours and a PhD in Governance and Regional Economic Development.
