Candidate for Selwyn

Elizabeth Mundt

Elizabeth Mundt is a second term Selwyn District Councillor and is standing as the New Zealand First candidate for the Selwyn electorate.

Elizabeth began her career in the equine industry, working in New Zealand and overseas as a riding instructor and horse trainer, and has dedicated many years volunteering with pony clubs and local riding clubs.

A mother of three adult children and foster mother to nine children, Elizabeth has developed a deep understanding of the challenges facing families and vulnerable members of the community.

She volunteered in a Romanian orphanage supporting children with disabilities before starting her family, has worked in aged care, and with high needs children in both private and school settings. Elizabeth has also been actively involved with organisations such as Women's Refuge, IHC, and World Vision, and is a founding member of a family court advocacy group.

As a Selwyn District councillor, Elizabeth has seen first hand the pressures facing local residents. She advocates for affordable housing opportunities, strengthening rural infrastructure and community facilities, and improving the efficiency of local service delivery.

Elizabeth is committed to putting the wellbeing of New Zealanders first, supporting practical policies that strengthen communities, protect national interests, and deliver stable, long term outcomes for future generations.
