Many experienced journalists are alarmed at the destruction of the fourth estate.

Media companies are now expressing concern about the ability to retain 122 journalists who have been hired if funding from the $55 million Government Public Interest Journalism Fund isn’t extended.

NZF never supported this bribe and blocked it from the start. The stipulations to get govt funding required the media to agree to a govt narrative and that is the very definition of Stalinist state control. That narrative is both revisionist and race-based and is now creeping into every area of our once free society.

Now that those media companies realise the funding is controlling their very existence, surely they can see that receiving this money is destroying the editorial independence they once had.

It's time we bring back experience to government.
