Steve Gibson
Steve Gibson is currently a Hastings District Councillor and has also served two terms as a Manawatu District Councillor.
He served for twenty four years as a Police Officer, including ten years based in Taihape and the Manawatu. After leaving the Police, Steve and his wife have owned and operated motels in Napier for the past decade.
As a councillor, Steve has worked to ensure that ratepayers receive value for their money, and has consistently opposed co-governance, divisive identity politics and unnecessary spending.
Steve is standing for New Zealand First because he feels Rangitikei deserves strong representation, and New Zealand First has a proven record of backing provincial New Zealand through initiatives such as the Provincial Growth Fund, now the Regional Infrastructure Fund.
With a career in law enforcement and small business, Steve advocates for better infrastructure, stronger local businesses, support for our farmers, sensible spending, one law for all and a government that always puts New Zealanders first.
Steve and his wife are proud parents of three adult children and are excited to be in Rangitikei where their children were raised.
