Vicky Hau

Vicky Hau is a proud New Zealand-born Tongan with deep roots in Māngere, South Auckland, where she was raised and continues to work today.

With over a decade of experience in public service, governance, and economic development, Vicky brings practical leadership, strong local knowledge, and a no-nonsense approach focused on delivering real outcomes for everyday New Zealanders.

Vicky is currently the Māngere Town Centre Manager, leading one of Auckland’s most diverse community and business hubs. She has led real improvements by supporting local businesses, improving community safety, strengthening town centre pride through beautification projects, delivering major community events, and supporting long-term local development across Māngere.

Prior to this role, Vicky worked at the Ministry of Social Development, supporting areas including hardship and financial assistance, housing support, and employment services. She helped improve service delivery and operational performance while gaining first-hand insight into how government decisions impact families and hardworking New Zealanders.

Vicky holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago and a Master of Public Management from Victoria University of Wellington.
