Vince Cocurullo

Whangarei candidate, Vince Cocurullo, is a respected Northland leader whose career spans engineering, technology, civic governance, and community service.

Serving as a former Mayor of Whangārei, Vince championed transparent decisionmaking, community-focused development, and practical solutions to local challenges. His leadership emphasised fairness, accountability, improving infrastructure and ensuring that council decisions delivered real benefits for families, businesses, and ratepayers.

Beyond local government, Vince has led major civic and regional initiatives, including digital safety education, rural connectivity improvements, and innovative waste-to-fuel and carbon removal projects developed with national and international partners. His work has consistently focused on strengthening Northland’s resilience, economic opportunity, and environmental future.

Trained as a Civil Engineer and with 26 years of experience as an IT professional, Vince brings a combination of technical depth in conjunction with practical problem solving skills.

A longstanding member and former President of the Rotary Club of Whangārei South, Vince is deeply committed to service and community. He continues to advocate for practical, community-driven solutions that contribute to a stronger, more resilient country.
